I will not argue further than this, by what I am reading from his question is that he asks for the best music format, not a specific area in that subject. So his question would be simply asking what music format reasonably meets all of the criteria that makes a good music format, not one that meets only one.

Lossless Codec Like FLAC....No lossy compression and improved audio quality for listening....

Also Windows has a Lossless codex

I've heard this is the best but I have not used it myself. Still using .mp3

It is what they call a lossy compression, but gives small file sizes

FLAC, I thought. Although the Issue is due to decompression, space. I converted 3000 songs to flac. Took 4 hours, and then told me that I had run out of space. 340Gig it has used :L

If you are converting from a lossy format (Such as MP3) to lossless, the ONLY gain is use of disc space. No increase in sound quality at all.
It is like copying from a cassette onto a CD and hoping the music sounds better.

Yea converting musing INTO flac was a very silly think to do. You just wasted 340GB, bro :P

AIFF has the best quality. The format of music on CD's is highest quality AIFF so when i import songs it basically does a direct copy.
