Can you guys offer any tips for getting attention on twitter? I have a decent amount of followers (around 1300), but I can never get any replies. I'd like to use Twitter to get opinions, but my questions always go unanswered.

People like to talk about themselves!  So engage them and FIND OUT ABOUT HOW THEY ARE DOING!  This will open them to answer your questions.   Twitter has definitely changed a lot.  You have to watch because a lot of people use automated tweets.  Next time you want to get feed back find a person who has recently tweeted in your timeline.  OFFER VALUE FIRST!  Retweet their tweet (if it is of value) and then @ reply them asking them how they are doing.  If you get a response then you engage them.  Hope this helps!

If you want to interact with people then don't treat Twitter as just getting followers which don't care. I get @replies from people always telling me to follow them back, if they only follow me for they then i tell them to fuck off. I have about 180 followers, as least 50% of whom i talk to. The way i did that is i follow people who i seem to have things in common with and talk to them, usually they follow back and then i regularly talk to them. I do the same when people who have similar interests to me follow me. Talk to people, befriend people. Simples.

I don't try to get followers though. I just follow people that tweet about things that interest me. I'm only following like 150 people.

I didn't say you did. If you follow people, talk to them. Try to interact with people is all I'm saying.

Start by asking how everyone is doing then at the beginning of your tweet say something like QOTD(Question of the Day)

I like the QOTD idea, but I'm not sure if I'd get any replies. I'll try it though. Thanks!
