Youtube only needs partnership so that they can keep their community going. I'm sure that the community would still thrive if people didn't get paid but you'd want to make more videos if you earned money for it.. It's only logical.

The question is why does youtube need partnership, not why does he need it. Catch my drift? Hopefully that helped someone else, but not the answer to this question from the user.

A partnership would bring their stocks up even more and this way they would gain more shareholders which would make them richer in the long run.
