If your iphone is low on battery then the 3g would be nice but some people dont have iphones. plus its just nice to have when you dont have your phone on you. :)

Yeah I bet the hotspot feature sucks the iphone battery life.

I had the same thing to consider when I bought my iPad2 wifi only.

3 weeks later, it works great and for me gets along nicely.

For me, I most miss the assisted GPS feature. This is nice when locating stores/restraunts.

In my opinion. IF I had an extra £100 and could afford another data bill, I would go for the 3G version.
But for me the positives of saving money outweigh the inconveniences.

Well thought through answer barnsleynut.....I guess we went through the same process when we purchased our Ipads.

And the thing is....turning an Iphone into a hotspot is not difficult at all....it just works.

But like Duodave has mentioned, it'll suck out the battery life of the iPhone...

Oh, Billy, thanks so much for your comment it eases my mind.  BTW, do you know how long the battery life of the iphone is when ipad is share its 3G? Thanks

I got myself this one, and it lasts about 5 hours with 5 devices connected via wifi.

That is a really good question.

I think that for some people they do not own an iPhone so they use an iPad 3G for internet. Also just battery conservation as well as much more flexibility. And what if you don't have your iPhone with you.

Hope I helped!
