Well, for one thing, Microsoft would have stolen the mouse idea directly from Xerox instead of Apple (who got it from Xerox)... We'd probably be using OS/2 right now. God help us.

I think alot of inovations in microsoft were them trying to keep up with apple and the same for apple, so certainly windows would be different. The same can be said for apple, and any company really that has competition.

Uhhhh... Not really. If anyone considers Windows 3.1 important, I believe Microsoft actually based that on Mac OS so if it just never existed altogether, I doubt it would be the same. If it was just GONE one day, all of the viruses and all for OS X specifically would probably be developed for Windows and then Microsoft may not try as hard since they won't have much competition.

If Mac OS ceased to exist, Windows would be better. All Mac OS users would have to use a different OS and due to the popularity of Windows, most of them would use Windows. Due to the larger user base, Windows would have more errors discovered and fixed and would gain consumer support through bloggers and vloggers as well. The demand for development would also increase and due to the already anti-Microsoft view of the average Mac OS user, this demand would be very outspoken.
