Title basically states it. I am absolutely terrible about putting off things til the last minute. Does anyone know any tips that can help me get out of my procrastination habits? I always seem to put low priority stuff first. (I.E: computer over homework)

I find it helpful to use a computer to help with what I'm doing instead of hinder it.  For example, I listen to music on it while I work instead of it being in the corner taunting me.  For some reason, that helps me.

Also, if you're on a role, don't stop for a break or a "reward"; it will only get you off track.

Thanks. Was afraid I wouldn't get a good answer. I'll have to try this tomorrow. Now that I think about it the reward thing kind of screwed me over... I sort of tried that system and it simply stopped my work.

There is a mathematical formula for procrastination:

The equation's factors are the desire to complete the task (U); the expectation of success (E); the value of completion (V); the immediacy of task (I) ; and the personal sensitivity to delay (D). The magic formula is U = E x V / I x D.

With it you can analyse why you are procrastinating and increase/decrease the values accordingly. It helped me out immensely when I was studying!
