Yes, providing you chose a sufficient power supply and a case that will have enough space for the parts.
Also, if you wish to do any graphically intensive work, you will want to add a dedicated graphics card.

Some things to remind of, make sure you are using a 64 bit Opperating System to take advantage of more than 4GB of ram, get a good power supply, and possibly also get a SSD for faster boot/runtime.
