Why do you keep taging "iFreakshow" in your question?

Well, I think that it's a really good desktop Twitter client.

Some things that it lacks are:

  • not being able to scroll sideways (I believe that this is Adobe's fault)
  • It gobbles up RAM (blame Adobe for that)
Some things that it excels in is:
  • Multiple Twitter account support
  • Cross platform (thank you Adobe)
  • being able to connect with other social media accounts
  • overall look and feel
  • Groups allow you to organize your Twitter contacts by interest, topic, or whatever you choose
  • Syncs with iPhone and other computers
  • a huge array of settings
  • Scheduling updates
  • URL shortening
  • and many more
As you can see, the good things outweigh the bad (if you have enough RAM). I prefer to use , because it's light, and the new UI is fantastic, but it doesn't have as many features as TweetDeck. I would have to say that it is the best client that is out there.

How is it Adobe's fault?

Did you know that Adobe makes Adobe Air which is what TweetDeck runs on? If you did, here's a simple explanation on why it's Adobe's fault.

Well, Flash eats up RAM, and Adobe Air isn't much more than a more stable version of Flash running on your desktop. If the same application was written in any C language, it wouldn't eat up as much RAM, because it doesn't have much to eat up.

Well if it didn't use Flex (did you know this is Adobes take at the RIA paradigm? and that it's part of AIR? it's not just Flash), the smooth look and feel would be much harder to accomplish. I give it to you that it's RAM hogging, but my question was more directed to the sidescroll function. That can't possibly be Adobe's fault, but the developers.

Hey,

There is Tweetie and it is one of the best desktop client for Mac OS X. Tweetie. There is a free and paid version.

Another good one is Destroy Twitter. DestroyTwitter. This is an abode air client. Works good though.

Thanks, Brandon Denison.
