Noticeable difference between Intel core 2 duo and i3?

0	I'm upgrading from a intel core 2 duo iMac to an iMac with an i3 processor next month. Is the i3 better or are they pretty much the same performance wise? apple imac intel asked Nov 24 '10 at 02:47 TomMaxwell14 31●2●2●4

its not worth the money. the i3 is just a new version. It still has 2 cores, at the same clock speed if your buying the base model. You would be better off getting atleast an i5 or waiting until there are some new models, maybe with intels next product cycle

0	No difference, just rebranded. answered Nov 24 '10 at 05:49 paddyt007 1.2k●3●10●31 with a larger cache, hyper threading and suports only ddr3 ram. All in all none of these make a differences that is worth £1000 (Nov 24 '10 at 06:24) Tim Fontana
