Is the age rating on movies, TV, and video games a big deal? Now I don't think that is a big deal to have the ratings on the items. By ratings I mean rated "E" to "M" or "G" to "R". I think that if you have the money to buy a movie or a game that you should be able to buy it. I am not saying that a five year old can go and buy an adult movie. But I think if you are 13, 14, or 15 you should be able to buy whatever game or movie that you want. to see the blog post: http://lordhead96.wordpress.com/2010/11/26/noyoucantplaythat/

I agree, I'm 13.. damn, did I type that? It's hard to be 14 all of a sudden. But anyways, I consider myself capable of handling "M"-rated games. I've been playing Halo since... God, must have been '04 or '05. But a long time at any rate. And CoD is always amusing. I still don't understand how they got 'M' ratings. But I can handle them, and so can the 8-year-olds that constantly n00b-tube me and laugh. IT'S NOT NICE!!! sob. But before I get even more off-topic, there shouldn't be a given age. That's censorship. |

I don't have anything against movie and game ratings but laws shouldn't be in place to prevent me from buying GTA IV if I have the money. Luckily my parents have never cared about ratings and I got my first Grand Theft Auto game at age eight. I can pretty much get any game or movie unless its porn. I'm 14 and I have almost all the Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty games. My parents bought me all of them and don't care. I never turned out to be a bad kid. I have all good grades and I don't feel like hurting anyone due to what I saw in a video game. I know that the things I do in video games are fake and I can deal with it. I don't support laws against teens getting M-Rated games. |

It really depends what's in the movie or game, and how mature you are. A game could be rated M for blood and gore, now that could be bad for some people. But for people like myself who hunt deer I've seen so much blood so much closer up when cleaning the animal. And then there are games rated M for sexual things which in my opinion can be a lot worse than blood. And other games can be rated M for language, and that depends on if you know not to say those words. But in the end it's the parent's decision on if you should have the game or not. |
