I have one monitor plugged into DVI my new monitor has a HDMI so does my video card do I need to plug in a DVI + HDMI in my new monitor in order for it to run!

First of all, it's not the middle ages so it wouldn't be duel but rather dual. There should be two slots on your graphics cars (or something) on the back of your computer assuming your're using a Windows-based machine. Then you would plug in both VGA cords to the back and voila. I'm not sure if that's it, but that is how I understand it

You need to have a HDMI port on your graphics card in order to connect it.

If your monitor has both then you can use either DVI or HDMI but you cant use both at the same time.

you can have 1 monitor use DVI and a 2nd monitor use HDMI if you want.
