I have been looking into buying a Logitech z506 5.1 system. I have a PC and a Mac Pro that I would like to plug into this. The speakers them selves have the 3 3.5mm (green, yellow, black) connections for surround sound. My PC can output that or optical audio out. The Mac Pro can only support surround sound via the optical output. I am looking for a device that will essentially allow me to run 2 optical audio inputs into it, allow my to switch between them, then output the 3 3.5mm (green, yellow, black) connections for the speakers themselves. I have been searching on the internet all day and I can't seem to find anything that would do that. Does anyone have any ideas?

For the price of a device that can do optical to analog 5.1, you could simply buy a much better sound card than what you have now

for much less money, you can simply get a high end sound card
