Back to the Future's auto-tying shoes get real ~ Back to the Future Part II was a smorgasbord of dazzling tech. Hoverboards? Check. Holographic sharks? You bet'cha. Maybe best of all, though, was something awesomely simple: shoes that tied themselves. ...

Nike patents Back to the Future-style auto-tying shoes ~ It takes a lot to get us excited about a shoe patent, but Nike found the magic words: "automatic lacing system." Think the ease of Velcro, but with the cool of a hoverboard. ...

Back to the Future's power laces finally become real ~ Of all the cool stuff shown off in the future of Back to the Future, the most iconic were definitely the hoverboard and the Nike shoes with power laces. We're still a little ways off from the hoverboard, but you can go ahead and cross real-deal power laces off your list. ...

And with the year of the "future" from that movie coming up pretty soon in 2015, the pressure is on to make them a reality. But while you wait, now you have the option to own the originals. ...

I, like hanhart, wear only converse, when I have the choice.

I'm more a fan of new balance, I like to have sturdy walking shoes which just feel nice to wear.

I also love reebok, they have great designs and are nice to wear.

I haven't worn Nike for nearly 10 years... I don't dislike the brand just don't have a need for them. I wear Sketchers, DC, and LaCoste.
