I would suggest removing that content about Hamatchi since it breaks section 1 of the site rules

(Dec 03 '10 at 19:57) kevin ♦♦ kevin's gravatar image

Don't edit peoples posts like that. Just retagging is not going to help.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:06) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

@zman please don't edit other people's tags, let the ops take care of it

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:08) kevin ♦♦ kevin's gravatar image

@kieran_tolley: We don't talk about those types of things on this site.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:08) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

I reported it after but I didn't know I could retag b4 so it made me laugh.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:08) zman zman's gravatar image

Don't use it as a joke to yourself it is not funny to others. Test stuff on your own posts.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:12) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

jeez man it was relative to the content, I didn't do nothing bad

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:27) zman zman's gravatar image

OK Guys sorry i misread section 1 :P Apologies :P

(Dec 04 '10 at 06:42) kieran_tolley kieran_tolley's gravatar image

kieran, you cant revert an edit of a misspelled word

(Dec 04 '10 at 07:14) zman zman's gravatar image

I actually edited it to the way people spell it in America but in other parts of the world like Europe they spell it the way you see it now. My mistake.

Onlive is software?

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:15) zman zman's gravatar image

Well if it is not a software then i don't know what it is. Supose it's probably more of a client then software.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:19) Vancar6 Vancar6's gravatar image

He/She asked your favorite not your favorites....just saying.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:20) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

I guess you could call it web-based software but I mean it dont install on your pc so I thought that would make it just a website.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:21) zman zman's gravatar image

Well the way i use it i download a client lol

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:24) Vancar6 Vancar6's gravatar image

@TheTechDude I know, but it would be pretty unfair to say i have 1 favourite.

(Dec 03 '10 at 20:25) Vancar6 Vancar6's gravatar image

I agree. I don't think I could pick a favorite either.

So I'm not the only one that still uses and likes the Command Prompt. Everyone that I hear always says its bad and then don't say why. There are somethings that you can do in the Command Prompt that are useful like Remote Shutdown, and ipconfig are the ones I use almost everyday.

(Dec 03 '10 at 21:37) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

I have to admit that I used Command prompt more in Windows XP than Windows 7.

(Dec 03 '10 at 21:43) Database Database's gravatar image

ya, but I still use it quite a bit.

(Dec 03 '10 at 22:02) TheTechDude TheTechDude's gravatar image

That's a tough one considering usage...so, I'll have to give two~

For sheer entertainment value, it's VLC, hands-down.

For "wow" factor, in that it's open-source & so well supported, it's VirtualBox.

PS~ if you use & enjoy open-source software, please donate.

VLC?! why trade it for K-lite codec pack that has media player classic in it?

(Sep 16 '11 at 04:44) xedric14 xedric14's gravatar image

It isn't a "trade", it's a preference (isn't that what this topic is about?). I've used most of the players out there, including K-lite/MPC- and always come back to VLC as it plays all I need w/o requiring any other codecs.

I have different favorites for different tasks, I do a lot of transcending and gaming so I likely use steam and Mediacoder the most. Steam because I hate having to insert disks and Mediacoder because it supports smp and is reliable.
