What is Roxio?

I'm trying to clean out my hard-drive, but I don't know what Roxio is. Is it something I need? I know I didn't download it. I got this computer third-hand, from my grandmother who got it from a friend, and it's got a lot of stuff I don't know what it is on here. Any idea what it is, anyone?
