Android 2.2 or 2.3 on Samsung Galaxy S

Right now i am still on Android 2.1 on my Samsung Vibrant. Anyone know if 2.2 is coming soon on the Galaxy S (other than the Epic 4G)?

Do you guys think that the Galaxy S will be like the Samsung Behold? Samsung just stopped the updates on those devices.

Ah, the Achilles Hill of Android... OS updates.

Be careful what device to get, because updates might stop. Will updates come to my particular device? What changes in GUI has the company that sold me this device made to the OS? When will the company update me to the latest version? Why can't I run this application on my phone, but my friend can on theirs?

I love the idea of Android, but not the bad implementation of it by these carriers.
