Ultra-mobile document creating device?

I'm soon to be getting an MSI GX740 laptop as a belated grad gift, which will basically be my mobile desktop when I need the power. But I'd also like to have another device to take to university next year that has amazing battery life, and is capable of creating any kind of document easily (for note-taking and presentations and stuff). Based on your experiences, what would you recommend?

Nice Gaming Notebook! With a 17" display, I can see why you're looking for something smaller to carry around. I was going to recommend just buying extra batteries. I'd recommend looking into an iPad. The battery life on this thing is incredible. Otherwise, netbooks are the next champs of the battery life. My HP Touchscreen Tablet PC's battery life will range from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the settings I choose. Your notebook's review claims 2 hours of battery life. I'm impressed!!!

Thanks. I had to sift through a lot of crappier notebooks to find a good gaming one in my mom's price range.

0	My Asus Eee PC tablet gets 5 hours battery, runs OneNote, and cost around $500. They're out of stock now but I'm sure similar models have similar specs. Definitely get a 2GB SODIMM upgrade. answered Dec 13 '10 at 12:48 tsilb 21.0k●65●199●333
