Just wondering, like, when you think about...it doesn't makes sense. |

Contrary to popular (or unpopular) belief, His name isn't Spanish. A lot of people in Mexico/South America named their children Billy Graham after a revival that he held down there. I think that Spanish people tend to use names of people that they admire. Jesus is not a Spanish name. |

My Venezuelan friend Jez's full name is Jesus, I'm pretty sure it didn't originate in Mexico. |

I'm fairly certain that the Spanish usage of the name Jesus came finds its origins in Latin and Greek. The famous Jesus Christ's first name is a transliteration of the Hebrew Yeshua (Joshua) to English. |

In addition to the other answers, just throwin' this out there, Mexico wasn't around 2010 years ago. Jesus remains to have been seen. |

Jesus is a name adopted by the Latin American culture AFTER the conquests by Europe. In English speaking culture, naming your child "Jesus" is sacrilegious. Here's what Wikipedia has to say: "Jesus" (pronounced /ˈdʒiːzəs/) is a transliteration, occurring in a number of languages and based on the Latin Iesus, of the Greek Ἰησοῦς (Iēsoûs), itself a Hellenisation of the Hebrew יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yĕhōšuă‘, Joshua) or Hebrew-Aramaic יֵשׁוּעַ (Yēšûă‘), meaning "Yahweh delivers (or rescues)". "Christ" (pronounced /ˈkraɪst/) is a title derived from the Greek Χριστός (Christós), meaning the "Anointed One", a translation of the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Messiah).[42][43]:274-275 |

Jesus is not a Mexican name, Mexico is a country not a language, secondly Jesus is not even Spanish, the language was formed from a combination of other languages, Latin, Arabic, African, etc most of those names come from Arabic descendent's, African descendent's and countries around those parts, all it's part of History. Here in PR we have lot's of offspring from different parts of Europe and Africa, and so does the other Spanish and Hispanic Countries. We learn a lot of that history here in schools. Next time try not to commit errors like mistaken Mexican, a race, for a language, learn first before you ask. That can tell a lot about you. |
