(Dec 15 '10 at 20:41) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

How you managed to pull that off?

(Dec 15 '10 at 21:23) Mihkel Mihkel's gravatar image

the card need a more powerful PSU I figured it out

I think you mean GPU. Your computer will not turn on without a CPU. A CPU is the thing made by Intel or AMD(others but those are the main ones) and it is the Central Processing Unit. The GPU is the Graphics Processing Unit which is your graphics card.

is that card enabled in the bios?

if it is, then the last time I had this issue, it was a damaged mobo. does another card work in the socket?

yes the default video card works

(Dec 15 '10 at 12:53) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

does the monitor ever come on? if not, then the card might not be in as far as it could, or it may be a faulty card, or a faulty lane

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:09) Tim Fontana Tim%20Fontana's gravatar image

it's a high performance video card so I was wondering if my power supply can push it it has all the connections for the card

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:16) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

it might not be good enough. what wattage do you have

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:21) Tim Fontana Tim%20Fontana's gravatar image

its a 375Watt PSU

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:47) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

should be ok, test the card in an other comuter

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:53) Tim Fontana Tim%20Fontana's gravatar image

375W is low considering you have a high performance card...

(Dec 15 '10 at 13:55) recck recck's gravatar image

I looked it up it requires a 400 W or more PSU

(Dec 15 '10 at 14:00) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

25w wont really make a difference. the 9600gt it's self only needs 96W max

(Dec 15 '10 at 14:12) Tim Fontana Tim%20Fontana's gravatar image

25W makes a big difference. You gotta allocate yourself at least 100W to ensure maximum power.

(Dec 15 '10 at 14:13) recck recck's gravatar image

so I have to get a 400W PSU

(Dec 15 '10 at 20:42) Deshaun Deshaun's gravatar image

It's most likely your PSU. Or it may of course be your video card, PCI slot, the cable etc. But as you've got a 375W PSU and the card requires at least a 400W power supply I'd concentrate myself toward that. I recommend getting at least a 500W PSU so the card would run completely flawless and so you wouldn't have to worry about your card getting too little power. You should always think in advance in case you might want some better gear.
