I often like to use my TV as a second monitor (Ofter to play video), but its to far away from my computer to have it plugged in all the time and i don't want to have to move it over to the TV every time i want to use it. So i was wondering if anybody knew of a wireless way to do this. (E.g. a Transmitter plugged into the Mini-Display Port and a receiver that plugs into the HDMI input of my TV which my Mac would see as a Second monitor. Any help would be good.

There are devices somewhat like what you are asking (but it is USB to HDMI) http://www.veebeam.com/. The only problem is that it takes up some ammount of CPU space (30% on a core 2 duo2.1 ghz chipset) and it is best to have a line of sight to the hub. One thing about wireless video transmitter is that there is a very noticeable delay in video (can be 3 seconds from hitting play on a video from being able to see on the screen) |

Matt, I would either go buy a Microsoft Extender like XBOX to extend it out there or Find something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/2-4G-0-1W-Video-Audio-Sender-AV-Transmitter-Receiver-NW-/110585174967?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bf63dbb7#ht_2504wt_974 |
