Sometimes my iPhone 4 just becomes a brick for no reason. I'll put it on sleep and come back to it like 5 minutes later and it won't do anything. Reseting it doesn't work and when i plug it in i'm told its in recovery mode and i can't even fix it though Xcode. After 4+ hours I can reset it and it will work as normal. But its been happening more and more and its getting REALLY annoying.

I went to the Apple Store about it the first time it happened, they reset it as normal (Which i had tried 30 times before i went) and told me "Sometimes it might overheat and do that". WHAT!? iPhones don't overheat when they are on sleep more and running no apps. Plus its stone cold.

Anyway, has anybody else had this problem? If so is there a fix?

Should I go back to the Apple store and explain my problem? I have no way to prove it which is the problem.

Anyway, thanks.

Yes, go back to the Apple Store, and if they don't replace it, demand to talk to a manager. Explain to them that if ever there was an emergency, you would be screwed because you wouldn't be able to dial 911. Try to also get the problem on video tape to so you can show them.

Hah its difficult to get a video when my only camera is my iPhone. Plus i've shown then videos of problems that only happen sometimes before. On the video i prove whats happening is real and when it happened etc. but NOOOO they just ignore it. -_- I'll go back one day.

Have you ever tried a full restore with DFU? sometimes it always fixes the problem, but you have to download the iOS file(ipsw file) for your iPhone 4. There's always a risk of doing that so, it's better demand a replace on the Apple Store

I'm a developer so i have access to the Beta's. And because they deactivate after a few months of use (Or a new version comes out) I'm constantly restoring my phone trough Xcode. I could say its the Beta's but it happened even before i installed them.

Take it back to the Apple store. Some workers are better than others.
