Some of the smart phones on the market shoot in HD Video | 720P. If you need higher resolution, then you can buy a dedicated HD Video Camera | 1080i or 1080P. Here's the camera I use, when my iPhone 3G[s] isn't going to cut it:

In reality you really won't need more resolution than 720p but if you make professional video then you would want a high quality 1080p camera. You could also look at the Creative Vado, it shoots at 720p and it is amazing. |

I think that it is a waste of money if you are going to buy a standard definition camera, because capturing memories in a higher quality nowadays means that it will be lower quality in the future. HD is eventually going to be a thing of the past, and there will be something new (like bluray), so get the highest quality you can now. |
