Amazon Whispernet is the name of Amazon's 3G network that is used on it's Kindles. The service is provided by Sprint. I know that when used to download books over 3G, Whispernet is free. When you email documents through Whispernet, it's something like 10 or 15 cents per document. The Kindle also has a web browser. I can't imagine Internet browsing over 3G could be completely free, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know? Thanks. |

To my knowledge it is free, they hope to make there money on the books they sell... the web browser is just a perk i guess... i do not own one but my friend does. |

A quote from Amazon's website:
Basically it says that Amazon pays for it. |
