I am using Windows, and trying to connect to a printer that is connected to another Windows computer. I have done this before, and it worked perfectly, but now, when I go into Network, it doesn't show the other computers.

All the settings on either computers have not been changed, and all the sharing options are turned on. What could be the problem?

Have you changed or updated antiviruses? You might want to try and turn off your firewall and see if that works. You could also type "\\(Other Computer Name here)" into the address bar in Windows and that should find the other computer, sometimes Widnows can't find the other computer with the scan it does.

It's only been a few hours since I last connected to it, and have tried typing it into the address bars a couple of times already. :/

Restart both computers? Windows does weird things. Make sure that Network discovery didn't turn off?

OKay the question is. Is the printer hooked up as a wireless devices on your network. Or hooked through a ethernet cable. Or is it actually attached to a computer and being a shared resource on your network. How is the printer hooked up to your network? I get asked about wireless settings in getting printers that are able to go with a wireless setting. Since I am working for a local ISP over here.

It says in the question "A printer that is connected to another Windows Computer" That would mean that it is not on a wireless network or connected with Ethernet. That means connected directly to a computer and being shared through the computer.

Your wrong ... very very wrong ... I don't kow what "TechDude" you are, but if you are not a "SoftwareDude" ... it's bad, very bad ... :D ... "A printer that is connected to another Windows Computer" it means that there is a printer, witch is connected to another computer ... that can imply:

2 computers connected by a wireless network, Ethernet network, or any other;

the printer can be also connected by the ways presented above;

I do work in software. He says it is connected which would most likely mean that it is DIRECTLY connected to the computer by most likely USB unless it is a really old printer. If the printer was connected to the network by Wi-Fi or Ethernet then he would not need the other Windows computer because the printer would be under network devices.

The computer that can't connect to other computers is it able to connect to the internet?

Also which Windows OS are you using?

Have you tried pinging the other computers?

If anything isn't working correctly my fist step is to ping my router, then other computers on the network and then ping Microsoft (if necessary). If all that works I proceed messing around with settings on the computer in question.

If you can't even ping your router check your ethernet cable and possibly replace it.

You must give us more details about your compute, like:

What version of Windows you have (XP, Vista, 7, 95)?

Look at your Network settings in control panel and see if your card is properly installed and configured, see if you are on the network that you created, if not, can you see the network(if wireless)? !

My advice is to ask a friend that has the proper knowledge to come and see what problem you have, because it might be a technical problem and if so nobody here can help you without a full understanding of your computer setup!

And ... very important to remember to you and all others that reed this, wen you ask a question ... write a more detailed and comprehensive description of whatever your asking!
