Is there a game like EVE Online ?

Is there a game that mimics (not necessary identical) EVE Online, and it's not subscription based MMORPG (you don't have to pay to play)

What is the best space simulator (with RPG indentations and besides EVE Online) that you ever played?

I've got like 50 virussus through EVE online. Be carefull (They were named EVE online trojan)
