I love avid media composer as the editor. Avid makes some great software products that are easily 10x as better than a lot of what adobe can put out. I do like adobe's software, and I used most of it in my high school television production class. Since the other products Avid offers are expensive, we used adobe to make overlays among other things. Avid takes some time to learn as well. But FCP and Avid are what is used in the professional world, not Adobe. Companies like Craig Murray Productions and The Food Network use Avid and NYU's Tisch uses a lot of FCP |

The industry standard is Adobe creative suite but I use Sony Vegas home studio which is a $50 editor that does fine |
