So, I'm trying to decide what new laptop to save for, and I'm very conflicted. On one hand, I want a laptop with good battery life and portability, but on the other, I want to be able to do some gaming with it when I'm away from my desktop rig. Do any of you know of any laptops with decent gaming power, but good battery life (preferably 15")? I'm open to all platforms, since I pick up on OS's rather easily.

Do you have any picked out that you'd like us to look at?

I'm not going to suggest any specific laptop because I'm no expert, but try to look for a laptop with a 9-cell lithium ion battery, you'll get the most battery life out of those.

I looked at some ASUS models, but they had horrible battery life

Ooh. I just found this one Eurocom Fox . It has switchable Nvidia graphics even better than the Macbook Pro, with similar battery life. Add a second battery for quick switching, and I'm good to go.
