I just ask this because I got a new video card yesterday and just wanted to know if these temps were within safe limits, my card is a Sapphire HD 5770 and at idle you know just maybe browsing the web and stuff like that my temp is about 50-55 c and at full load as much as I can do with it with the best games I get around 70-73 c im not getting any error messages or heating warnings I just wanted to be sure its all in good working order and im not damaging it. Thanks in advance

I'd say it's safe, it's more like 80-100 c that are overheating it but 50-55 c and 70-73 c are safe You also might consider putting in a really big fan (if your box is build for big fans) where the video card is, just to prolong it's live.

Big fan, small fan, doesn't make the greatest difference. It all depends on air flow, you want fans that take in cool air and blow out hot air. Big intake fan on top that brings in cool air through a grill, then the heatsink on the card itself and a medium sized outtake fan in the back to suck all the hot air out.

you are right recck. big fans doesn't make that much noise like small fans. I don't know why but they are silent through my ears.

I actually have a new fan for it also that I bought by mistake because it thought it would fit my other video card because its fan went out but wouldnt fit it but it will on my new one ive been thinking about using it because I read some reviews online about that cooler and this video card of how it works a bit better but so far as long as its acting fine as it is I think I might hold off on doing that till I need to no real reason why I shouldnt except im lazy lol oh and btw the new fan and heatsink i have is the Accelero L2 Pro incase you wanted to look up anyhting about it yourself.
