How to clean a phone with a touch screen?

I was looking for suggestions on how to properly clean a touch screen on a phone or a ipod. I've seen several people use rubbing alcohol and I am not sure if this will cause any damage to the screen or phone. Any suggestions?

Rubbing alcohol is a watered down version of Isopropyl alcohol which is used to clean electronics including the circuit board as the alcohol evaporates very quickly meaning it will dry nearly instantly.

I have a solution that I keep in a bottle to clean my iPad 50% isopropyl, 50% distilled water. I mist the screen then use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off.
