While nothing has been confirmed at this stage in the game and everything that's being reported is merely a rumor, the Wall Street Journal believes that the iPhone for Verizon will be announced on Tuesday and they haven't missed yet when it comes to these things. I use the 3GS on AT&T myself so I am not deathly concerned with this, but at the same rate, people with AT&T may actually see a speed boost seeing how a lot of people are gonna jump ship to Verizon lol. I sense the unlimited data plan for the iPad coming back soon LOL

People say that Verizon Wireless would have better speeds but what they don't realize is that AT&T would have better speeds if it wasn't for all the iPhone users. Verizon's network would probably slow too if they had the iPhone

No not officially its just a rumour at this stage, there are speculations that it will be officially announced in february.

At this point in time, nothing has been confirmed. For all we know, maybe it's the iPad 2 being released tomorrow and a surprise show up by Steve Jobs with Apple. There has been times where the Wall Street Journal was wrong. All rumors and blogs say that it will be released, but we don't know for sure because it's not 100% confirmed. Only time will tell.
