hey0 server mod problems

i am currently trying to set up a Minecraft beta server for me and a few friends to goof around on i am using an computer that's a not the greatest so i don't want to make it public and have it get run down but i have hey0 on it with some mods like Movecraft and when i connect none of them work none of the normal hey0 commands like /time even work and even thought im an admin in users.txt i am not oped i can not figure out why this wont work the server is currently running Ubuntu 10.10 and i cant try with windows because it does not recognize the Ethernet port is this just a problem with ubuntu or is their something wrong with my hey0 mod
