To record a skyep call properly, you either need a skype recording plugin or a virtual machine running it's own copy of skype and adobe audition. To record with adobe audition with out using a virtual machine, you need a sound card that supports ASIO, that will allow you to use multiple recording sources at the same time. PS recording through asio will not record your voice, only everyone elses voice, so the best solution for skype recording into adobe audition, is to install a virtual machine, then in the virtual machine, install a copy of skype and adobe audition, then have the virtual machine join your call and record everything. audition recording options (when using asio, it will not affect the default recording source if you decide to not use a virtual machine)
Also wanted to add, another safer option (I use this option, I use a old PC that I have laying around and I use to record skype calls for meetings. I then run a adaptive noise reduction on the recording then normalize then use the equalizer to make the audio sound a bit better, I then roughly g over everything with a volume envelope to bring up parts that are too quiet. I use team viewer to control my old PC for this. |

Or, you could do it the much simpler way, and set Audition's "input" to "What U Hear", and theoretically this should work. I use Audition almost regularly, and this seems like the most logical/easy way to do it. |
