Game-development/app-development and social media. Also E-Mail and web browsing(usually Youtube and Twitter).

I can't really say I am using it for school because all the teachers say is either go do something for yourself or put your laptop away. When we use the laptops finally the most power consuming app is Flash CS4-5 or notepad! (and that calls it self a media technology course!)

edit

Oh yeah and of course gaming!

3D art/animation with Blender 3D, 2D art with GIMP, programming using Terminal's 'gcc', 'python', 'javac', and 'java' commands (and Vim now, too!), the Internet, gaming, overclocking, and light video editing on occasion. I also patch the Linux kernel, and I'm starting work on a game.
