Just pop 'em in the face. That's what I do. The teachers, principals, and cops do nothing. You want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

Agreed, for scolding its just a left ear in + right ear out or either way.

Unless they do disciplinary action.

I've been bullied but not anymore. Don't be the guy that walks along the walls. Get your back straight and head up. I've found that the tactic "ignore" doesn't work (at least for me). They'll just notice that they can say anything to you. Say something back and take some fighting lessons, they might come in handy - I haven't been to any fighting lessons, but I can fight (keep your hands up and don't lose your guard!). Telling to a teacher is the worst thing. I've even left school for few days not to be bullied - had some hard times. Keep your head up, back straight, have a smile on your face and seem confident. I know it takes time, but it's worth it! It took like a year for me to get rid of bullies.

As a note: It took me a year to get rid of them, but I was bullied since kindergarten + 8 years of school. And probably would be bullied again in the future.

Reality check. Most of the guys who say they stood up for themselves, won, and the bullying stopped are full of it. Stop being such posers. The skinniest kid in class will always loose to the most muscular kid in class. There is nothing you can do but graduate and get the heck out.

While it is true that you wont win the fight, it will stop the bullying in most cases.

In almost all cases, the bully is not looking for a fight. The bully is looking for someone to pick on or abuse and not have and negative retaliation to them.

If them picking on you will lead to a fight, they will stop as they are not getting the response they want.

The bully wants someone who will just take all of the pain they are dishing out and not do anything back.

Also it doesn't matter if they can beat you, fighting is still unpleasant for both people. Even someone experienced in close combat in the military will think twice about getting into a fist fight with the skinny guy from IT. Even if you can win, does not mean that you wont take any damage no matter how skilled you are.

Just ignore them. They want you to give them attention.

When I was in elementary school, A bully used to pick on me but I was able to get it to stop when I was in the perfect position to hit them in the face with a chair.

Remember bullies are human also, they know they they are bothering you and they know that if you ignore that you are only pretending and it is still bothering you and thus they will continue to pick on you in most cases.

You need to show them that it is more trouble than it is worth to pick on you. Even if you cant beat them, 1 fight now will save you a years worth of torment. If you cant beat them head to an area where security can break the fight up, when they pick on you, do as much damage to them as possible until the fight is broken up. this will minimize damage to you while showing the bully that picking on you will only lead to a fight.

I have found the best way to handle a school bully is to not handle them. If the only thing he or she does is smack talk, I would just say 'Ya, I agree with ya on that' (though in my case, something incredibly stupid also works. Use this with caution though if you want to maintain your dignity). If they are using physical force, do what it takes to get away and try to tell someone.

I can only speak on what I did to bullies when I was growing up. During elementary & high school bullies picked fights with me, and they usually lost. Other bullies tried to extort money, rough house & pranked. I gained their respect, and they're my friends until today. If weapons were used back then, deaths may have occured & lives ruined. (See bully movies below.)

As a child in grade school, there was this bully, bigger and taller who was constantly extorting money and stealing our lunches. On several occasions he did this. Complaints to parents and teachers seldom helped This boy had been suspended a couple of times, was a twice repeater of third grade and obviously had an ego all the way to the floor (I learned that most of them do) One day he attempted to steal MY lunch once again. This time I used my knee to kick him where it counts and I ran...like crazy with some of my friends following me. He went to the principal and we both told our stories. The principal praised me for bravery....Twenty years later I met the guy again, he was driving a cab in New York the ride came to about $35.00 and when he recognized me... he said: no charge for you old buddy.

People have tried to bully myself throughout my schooling years. But, I have found ignoring them is the best solution, as they are often cowards who are all talk. But if that didn't work, I would draw the line. I would fight them. But, don't do that these days cause a fight is never one on one anymore. If you are going to fight, make sure you have someone that has your back.
