Since the question was just recently asked about "What would you do if the Internet was "shut off", it made me think what we all did YEARS ago, when there was no computer yet like what we have today, or even more so, the "Internet".

It has become such an integral part of all of our lives, from adding to our music collections, sharing our photos, playing games....then there's the MySpace/Facebook/Twitter boom....enough said. Even making money online....

What did we do before "the computer" became what it is to most people and families today?

Here's some things that I came up with that I used to do more of, and when I started thinking about these things, it kinda scared me a little...

I.....

  1. Read a lot more
  2. Was a LOT more physically active/fit than I am now (...!!)
  3. Spent more time and was actually INTERESTED in doing things with the rest of my family
  4. Generally played Atari or Nintendo before going to bed or on rainy/cold days.

It sucks when I start thinking about it, but the computer/internet has really turned us as a society into a lazy society. I'm just curious to hear what others did before then...! :)

lol, I did those and more.

I was a lot more out-doorsy, like going for bike rides, hanging with friends, playing sport. We only had one tele, so we all would sit round and watch that.

We had more BBQ's, went to the local pool for a swim. Went fishing, etc etc etc.

I'm only 22 and I have been using the computer since I was 13 so I have lived most of my life in the internet age. But something I must admit was better and heard from many people older than me is that girls were a lot more easier! :D

I started using computers and the internet when I was 2. So... before that I was in my house crying, playing with toys ,watching children shows, eating, bathroom, sleeping, screaming, etc.

I would have no idea, because I wasn't around then. Most human beings couldn't live without the Internet today. In fact, I know someone who works at a farm that absolutely hates computers, but every now and then he likes getting on Craigslist looking at tractors.

Technology is loved and loathed, and is something that we just simply couldn't live without in today's age.
