Is this the processor that will put AMD closer to Intel, or do you think that this is better? |

two things: 1) "Dragon" is not the processor, it is the platform. It consists of the processor, the chipset and the graphics adapter. 2) Intel's processors are quite a bit faster than AMD's (Nehalem vs. Phenom-based) clock-per-clock and core-per-core. However, AMD offers different processors than Intel at different price ranges. The six-core Phenom II out benchmarks the quad-core Core i7 at the same price where threading is applicable, but single threaded performance takes a heavy hit. |
