I was looking for another monitor for my laptop and I've heard hp and dell are good brands for monitors. I would get an Apple monitor but they are waaaaaay too expensive. |

Acer isn't bad. But they're not the best. My suggestion would be to go with Asus. Either Asus or Dell. |

Acer. Durable. answer content must be at least 25 characters |

I have an Asus and I love it. It had a great price. HP is fairly popular, but they make bad software and drivers IMO so I generally avoid them (I do realize a monitor doesn't need a driver, but still.) Dell makes good laptops. I have not seen many of their monitors, but they are a reputable brand. Acer is popular also, but their quality doesn't look as good as what I've seen from other brands. You can check reviews for monitors on Newegg to get even more detail and avoid some bias. |

I must agree with Vancar6...Acer monitors are really really nice. I'm very picky as I do a lot of photography work, so finding the right display is sometimes very daunting. However, I've had several Acer monitors I would upgrade over the years before we bought the iMac, and I still love those 22" widescreen Acers I have. Awesome sharp display, colors are just right, good price, durable, and, Acer's CS is very easy to deal with, ANY time I've ever had to call them for the rare CS call, they've been timely, prompt, and problem solved almost immediately. It all depends what you need the monitor for. Do you just surf the web and check E-Mail? Do you do any gaming? Do you watch movies on your PC? Photo/video editing? |

Most, and I repeat most monitors today are built with the same tech behind them. Kinda like "Sams Choice" is coke in a different can. Pick the one that meets your criteria and price range. It should have the connections you want, additional ports that you desire, dimensions you need, and the overall appeal you're looking for. If it meets that criteria, then it's the one for you. FYI, they all come with decent warranties too so you can always take it back should it not perform correctly. |

Always pick out your monitor from a store, so you can view it next to other monitors. I am partial to Viewsonic, but I've owned other brands that looked great too. In the end there's not that many manufacturers of flat panel displays. Many companies buy panels from a small group of manufacturers then rebrand them or add their own electronics. Pick one with a good warranty, a store with a return policy you're satisfied with, and definitely you want widescreen. |

I have an Asus 25" IT IS AWESOME :D You can never go wrong with an Asus |

I really like Acer monitors, but most offices are using Dell monitors. |

I had an acer monitor but it got covered in dead pixels, they have them at my workplace and they are forever breaking. I would suggest either Dell or Apple monitors. |

I prefer Samsung monitors myself, their color is pretty good and the price is quite affordable. Also Hannspree seems to make good monitors and make pretty good size ones the one I have is a 23" and it was only $140 |
