I am glad that it is going to be a 13 episode series! The mini series children of earth was good but it wasn't enough for me! Can't wait to see if they fill in the gaps of the team with the doctors old companions like Mikey and Marther! If it is them it will be fun to see another married couple (in character) on the scene!

i cant find out any info on s4 as far as i knew it was going to be on FOX

(Jun 05 '10 at 21:45) TheiKing TheiKing's gravatar image

This was going to be a new series that was going to put an american twist on torchwood without any confirmation of new actors. BBC America decided against this! John Barrowman recently confirmed torchwood series 4 in a radio interview for the UK original version. Im from the UK just in case!

ahh yeah im in new york lol.

(Jun 05 '10 at 21:50) TheiKing TheiKing's gravatar image

FOX nixed it. Last interview I heard about was Barrowman saying on an interview that Torchwood was going to happen but that was when they were talking with FOX a couple of months ago.

Shouldn't this discussion really be on a new question though and not about Dr. Who? :)

Definately! I'm finding it hard to get into Matt Smith! I still love the show but I think David Tennant made such an impression it is going to take some time for people to get over the fact that he is gone!

Yeah I do the same thing! Think about the little details and how he would have handled the situations.

hes not better that David Tennant in my opinion

(Jun 05 '10 at 21:37) TheiKing TheiKing's gravatar image

With James stating "sometimes", I will agree there are some scenes that Matt pulls off that would not be a David Tennant thing. In those instances Matt is better. I also have a hard time even thinking about comparing them because they both fulfill the role and make it their own. It would be like comparing David Tennant to Tom Baker. It really can't be done. (edit due to horrible grammar)

I loved David Tennant but with a new Doctor he is getting use to his new self and Matt Smith is a new perspective that plays to a younger crowd. I really like him and feel the episodes are made more for him and his quirks. It seems more whimsical to me.

Yes, Donna was my fave companion, I really want her to return, I don't like the current doctor as much as david, he gave the show something... I really want Donna to return... I cant wait for Series 5 Final, they will probably make it the best one ever...

The funny thing about Matt Smith is that people are comparing his portrayal to Tennant's. David Tennant was phenomenal in the role, but people had a hard time grasping him in the role after Christopher Eccleston. The one thing that folks have to do is give Smith a chance to get truly comfortable in the role. The beauty of playing The Doctor is that you really don't have standards per se to live up to even with previous actors, you have to find your center and set your own standard. Tennant will be my favorite (as well as many other peoples' choice) for some time to come, with Tom Baker pretty much second, not sure about Hartnell's mostly curmudgeonly ways, but each actor brings their essence to the role which is a unique one to be sure.

I do admit to being fearful though when seeing Smith's original promo shots (thought he had Jay Leno's chin DNA) and the yell of "Geronimo" had me quite nervous, Tennant's excited "Allons-y!" was fun and quirky. "Geronimo" felt forced and a bit hokey.

yeah dude I was too but if I put aside the fact that's a different actor just the doctor Regenerated then I'm find I soon to forget how great the other actor was

They're both phenomenal in the role. The last two episodes of this season were truly killer, and I loved how they pulled pieces from everything that happened to that point to make the season finale lace up. I just wonder what's up with River Song and if the alliance that formed between the Daleks, Cyberymen, Sontarans, etc. will play a factor in the coming season.

I liked the first two doctors but now I hate the new one. They I thought were better and they were actually funny. So no I hate the Season 5 doctor.

I enjoy the entire series, I like David Tennant as the doctor.

One thing about the new Doctor that may sound odd is his costume is too small and distracting.

(Yes, tight or small clothing on people is distracting.)
