Do you use one? what company do you like to use? ie: virtual box, VMWARE. Do you pay for it? what are the advantages? What Operating systems do you use? Just wondering. :-) |

I use VirtualBox to run Windows XP (I don't like Windows 7), and Linux and I test software on them, and do software development inside it as well. I just recently started running FreeBSD Unix on it again. |

I use VMware Fusion 3, I have a licensed copy. I run Windows 7, XP, and Linux Mint in it plus Tiger Server just to mess around a bit. I run the machines on average 6 times a month probably I don't have much use for them. I have used Parallels and I just don't like the current environment as much. Virtual Box is free and you get what you pay for having used it. |

I use VMware Workstation. I use Snow Leopard in it. Testing OS X. But, I'm not really overly impressed with it. heh |

I use Parallels on my MacBook Pro so that I can run Windows 7 on it. I know that there are some Purists out there that would think it foolish, and they are entitled to their opinions. The reason behind it is purely fiscal, I own software that is windows based and would be cost prohibitive to repurchase for my Mac. Of course I had to bump the RAM in my system up to 8GB so that it would run smoothly, but that took care of the issue I had with the system slowing down. Now I use it regularly in coherence mode and for me it's a seamless solution. |

I have a guy who lets me use a virtual machine on his server. I build websites and hosts them for me. I use it about once a week. |
|
I use a vm once a week running Windows 7 over OS X Snow Leopard. |

I use Parallels or VMmare to run Windows XP, just for access to specific software that I prefer to use that only works in XP... I also use it for testing different operating systems and software. So I alternate between the two, based on my needs. |

I use Virtual Box to play around with and study older operating systems. I also like to have the option, if need be, to be able to run older software in it's native environment. I also keep a linux virtual machine handy, for whatever reasons I may need to use such. Convenience when I need it, otherwise, I just play around, and geek it out. XD |
