I'm doing some music recording, and right now I'm currently using my iPhone headphones. I need bigger and badder headphones, to keep out outside sound. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I have roughly $100-120 I'm willing to throw around for them. Also, I was looking at "Beats" by Dr Dre. Forget it. haah

I just posted this on another question recently. For "studio" type applications, I use the "granddaddy" of headphones, the Koss PRO4-AA headphones. The design has been around for about 40 years.

10-25,000Hz frequency response, they are rugged, built like a Sherman tank, and VERY reliable. They ARE heavy, but if you're serious about your audio work, it won't bother you.

Despite what "some" may say, high-quality headphones to NOT need to cost $3-400 or higher.

So, you want a $2 or less, high quality headphone set?

Maybe he meant $200.

Sony MDR-7506. You absolutely CANNOT beat it for the price. I use them every day in my studio, and I intend on getting more. They make great monitors, and have a very flat response for headphones, so your mix will be more accurate.

I second that. I've used Sony MDR-7506 headphones for years. They're comfortable for long studio sessions, built very well, and when the ear pads wear out they can easily be replaced for around $10 and 5mins time. I will admit they do boost a little in the low end, but that actually works out to be an advantage when mixing certain types of music.

I really don't know what they offer but Bose always has great audio products.

I just took a look on their site. The only remotely decent pair I saw was $180. :/ Maybe my standards are too high for the price I'm willing to pay. Thanks for the input though :)
