Can't see the menu in my new Ubuntu insterlation. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/1954/screenshotus.png I have updated the thing but as you can see ,,, nothing. I can hover over were it should be and open Firefox and the Ubuntu dashboard. Any one know how to fix? Thanks |

Hi, have you tried re-starting the x-server? ctrl alt backspace , or, ctrl alt print-scrn k If that doesn't fix it, alt F2, type in, gnome-terminal sudo synaptic in the terminal search gdm in synaptic mark for re-installation, apply...etc post the results cheers Pete |
That should do it. It happens to me from time to time. It's even more frequently-occurring if you happen to be using Emerald in conjunction with Compiz (in which case the command would be "emerald --replace"). |
