Yes you can. It's all royalty free, so you can use it legally. Just make sure you give the guy credit : http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/licenses/

CCmixter.org http://incompetech.com/ http://www.earcandee.com/ <---- which is used by some major radio stations in uk for jingles. Or ask a Youtube musician if you can feature their songs, with a link back. A perfect partnership :)

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/

If I may say a word of a YouTube channel, specialized in finding music from this site: www.youtube.com/NewgroundsPicks They might very well help you find suitable music for your videos. Mostly electronic though.

You can use convert youtube to mp3, youtube converter, youtube mp3 converter to convert any youtube videos to mp3 format then use it for that. if that doesn't work, use youtube to mp3. I used that one last week and it was working fine.

if you want background music for your video you have to grab a license for the track that you want.

There are Royalty free music libraries that have those services.. One of those is http://www.themusicase.com You can find any genre that you want there.

http://vidtomp3.com It'll let you take the audio from another YouTube video (find one that's just a studio recording of the song), and download an MP3 file of it. Then you can use that in your video. I'm not sure of the legality of it, but certainly YouTube'll accept it at least. For Classical music, you can find old (somewhat scratchy) recordings on Wikipedia, but I'm not sure how to go about downloading them.

It's great to see a fellow classical and jazz fan! May I ask, which era of so called "classical" music is your favourite, and who's your favourite composer?

What you are suggesting is illegal. You are not paying for the song he wants ones that he can use without a chance of his video getting pulled down because of him using copyrighted songs. YouTube will not except it....

It shouldn't get pulled from YouTube, because it's something that's already on YouTube and been accepted. I realise that this isn't a complete guarantee that YouTube won't take it down, as it may have reached a deal between content owner and video uploader, however, in general it's a sign that it will work.

Also, with classical music especially (and, to a lesser extent, jazz), even if content is found, it will still be accepted if there is a content match found.

YouTube might take it down... He would like to use it in all videos and that would mean if the content source finds his videos then all of them could be pulled. Better to be safe than sorry.
