In this article it says that Facebook wants to trademark the word 'face' which "could limit the use of the word in other social networks and services, such as Apple's Facetime". Do you think Facebook will be successful in this?

They can't, because it's too common of a word.
I hope you are right.
Apple can trademark words like FaceTime, MacBook, or Mac OS X, because they are words that aren't used commonly (before Apple received the rights to it). You can't receive rights to words like car, keyboard, mouse, plane, water...

They did and they also trademarked the word book and won the right to them
So I have to pay Facebook every time that I use the word face or book?
Really? I want a link to a article about this! D:
Thank you for the link.
