Hello guys.. I have a question. I use Chrome and I back it up with my gmail account but I seem to have accidentally deleted a folder of bookmarks and they are really important to me. is there like a backup file saved on my computer or maybe a backup online I can get from Google?

Please help

If you're on Windows, try this.

If you're on OS X, try this.

I believe both require that you haven't restarted Chrome since you deleted the folder, however.

Unfortunately I noticed that the folder was gone today after deleting it like a week ago so I have no chance of recovering them.. This sucks so much..

I would suggest getting Xmarks so this doesn't happen again.

The only other way is to search for the file

Prevention: use xMarks or Google sync and keep a HTML file backup of the bookmarks

From now on you should use "Sync" option from Preferences > Personal Stuff Tab. It syncs all or selected data to your google account.
