How can you be serious? If they're going bankrupt now, than there is no hope for any other business model.

Correction: Market Capital. Msft is BY FAR the leader in market share (at least in software). The reason Apple IS so big is because they branched away from computers and focused on personal devices (hardware AND software) while Microsoft stayed with software.

Market capitalization is nothing more than the combined value of all shares outstanding. It has nothing to do with the company's size.

I want a Zune but it costs like a Mac compared to iPods.

@Luke oX: uhhh, a Zune HD 16GB costs $200, the same as an Ipod touch with only 8GB.

The 32GB zune HD costs $269.99, and the ipod touch 32GB costs $300

The 64GB Zune HD costs $349.99, and the ipod touch 64GB costs $400

Why did you have to sell it for an entry to school?

(Sep 13 '10 at 19:46) DanielHep DanielHep's gravatar image

That is ridiculous. About 10 years ago they were going to, but today they are doing just fine. In fact, it is estimated that they have more money than Microsoft!

Apple is WORTH more, but Microsoft still has far more money worth in assets and cash than Apple.

All of that information is in the public record through SEC filings.

Look at the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. I can tell you that if you surveyed people that had one of those devices compared to a Zune for example, the ratio would be probably around 100:1. How can you tell me that a company that good is going bankrupt?

That's why they sold 1.7 millions iPhone 4s on the 5th day. Apple is the 56th biggest country, they sell an iPad every 3 seconds. They aren't going to be bankrupt anytime soon.

Oops sorry, when I type on a iPad, the screen jumps, it's only on lockergnome.net, I must have made a typo and it autocorrected it to country. What I intended to type was company.

Apple, Inc. (NasdaqGS: AAPL) was pennies under $3.50/share back in September 1984. On Friday, July 02, 2010 the stock last traded at pennies under $250/share. Here's a link to an almost 26-Years of AAPL > AAPL GRAPH

The chance of Apple going bankrupt any time soon is about the same as an apocalypse happening next Tuesday.

And given Apple's love of announcing updates on Tuesdays, if it ever does fold, it will most certainly do so on a Tuesday. ;-)

No Way. Apple has a lot of money in there wallet which they can do anything with. Such as buying companies like Lala or the ad company they recently bought.

Neither Microsoft nor Apple is going bankrupt any time soon. Both are successful in their endeavors.

Apple's products are extremely successful at the moment and it seems like they will continue that trend for the next few years barring any major unforeseen events.
