I don't own a MAC, but if I did, I know I could create a Powerpoint and SAVE it as a quicktime.mov Is there any free Web 2.0 app. I could use that would do the same thing for simple rendering on a PC?

Sadly, your best free choice is Windows Movie Maker.

Hmmmm. I should've saved this question for the weekend when more video enthusiasts would be online. I know there's something out there as simple as ??

Well, there's Jaycut.com. I'm pretty sure that it uses Flash.

The point that I am trying to get across is that you don't need to add fancy video effects or transitions. In fact, the most commonly used transition is a simple fade/cross fade. If you are doing something to up-beat music, just use a cut.

Even though WMM completely sucks, you can get just as much out of it as something you'd pay about $30 for if you know the right techniques.

If you don't think that I'm much of an enthusiast, let me assure you that I am. Do you know anything about the Rule of Thirds? What about your camera options. Do you know anything shutter speed, white balance, or manual focus? What kind of camera is best: the one that gives you the most options, or the one that is simplest to use?

So I do know (enough of) what I'm talking about, and I suggest buying a video editor, or sticking with what you have for now, because there are no good free video editors.
