Do you have a server at home? What is it, just a computer or a specialised server? And what do you use it for?

Thanks

Have an older PC (with a modified version of XP) using for data back-up and archiving, and as a print server (hate to admit I don't have a wireless printer, yet). It doubles as a standby work station and testing machine as well.

Nice :)

Would you ever considering upgrading?

I have a Windows Home Server computer running backup on all of my Windows boxes (all of them minus...)

I have a Ubuntu 10.10 Linux web server running. I use it to host my two websites, and I use its database as sort of a playground when I'm trying to get stuff to work at my job, but don't want to affect the actual data in there (take backup scripts from work server and run on my web server). Works pretty well so far. I'm not much of a Linux guru, but I know my way around a server now.

I use a older Desktop that just runs Windows XP. It is a file server, a backup server, and a media server.

I have two servers running in our home/home office. One is a Windows 7 machine and hosts all of our media content as well as manages the backups for all our client computers. Needless to stay, the server has a lot of storage.

The second server is an Ubuntu linux server that runs our mail server, shoutcast streams and my ZNC IRC connections.

I have a 2TB NAS here at home, it uses a small linux distro, and has a lot of features. I use it on a daily basis. In the future I might use it as a print server aswell ever since I do not have a wireless printer.
