What are some tips, tricks and things to look for when buying a new notebook? |
|
I personally prefer to go out and "Google" the different models and read the reviews. I also look to make sure that the machine(s) in question meet the spec standards I'm looking for. Definitely shop around and consider mail order. You might even be able to start a price war between competitors, make them bid for your purchase. Key thing is to make sure you get what you want, don't settle for what's available on the shelf. |

Mostly Price, because spending $1,200 on a laptop is foolish, if you lose it you will regret that decision for the rest of your life, and that possibility is not improbable. Also, because Laptops can't really game, the main thing to look for a is a Dual Core with at least 2.0 GHz, and if you can get an i3/i5 (with a GPU) or one of AMD's soon to come out CPU/GPU processors, then get these first, if you can afford it, they are very important! Also note, the i3/i5, there are two versions, the first line, and then Sandy Bridge, the new line, don't touch Sandy Bridge CPUs till 6 months from now, they have an issue on the motherboard. |
