When did you last upgrade your computer? Whether you added to your existing one, built a new one, bought a new one, ect. Any hardware upgrade. Laptop? or Desktop? And why? I am in the process of building my own gaming computer at the moment and it will be a huge upgrade from my previous system. |

I switched from a Core 2 Duo X6800/680i rig to a Core i7 980X/X58 rig in January. Also added a 128GB SSD as my OS drive and went from 4GB to 6GB of RAM. Yum! |

What? New Zalman CPU cooler when it arrives in two days. Why? Standard AMD Phenom 2 coolers are far too loud and only just do the job. |

I upgrade my desktop that I built around every 2-4 months, I had a sempron 140 then upgraded to an athlon 240 in august then a phenom II X4 940 in october, upgraded my power supply from a 600w coolmax to an antec 750w earthwatts in september, upgraded my 3850 512mb to an ati 5770 1gb in November. I'll probably upgrade in a few months. |

Just had to buy myself some new RAM. It was the only cheap, unbranded component in my computer and it died on me, so I got myself a couple of Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066MHz 2GB sticks. Not looking to add anything else to my computer in the near future, though I may get a new case as my is old, plain and uniteresting. |

I recently upgraded my rig by adding a Solid State Drive (SSD) (about 4 months ago), but I gotta tell you, if you don't do your research on these SSDs, you can end up getting a crummy one which cannot perform well after 3 months. The first month it's the bomb, after that it starts to slow down significantly every month that followed... :( About the same time I upgraded my PNY GT 210 Video Card to an EVGA GTS 450 (Which runs all games fine too!), and soon I may go to a Cossfire 6870 Setup with a 700 Watt Power Supply & 3 Monitors! :D |

almost two years ago i got my computer and it was one of the fastest int he world according to pcpitstop.com but not any more! |
|
I bought a Lenovo IdeaCentre K320! It's a nice desktop, but the graphics card isn't really good. |
|
I bought a few weeks ago a brand new 17" Toshiba. I bought it because I wanted a laptop and needed better performance than my desktop which was getting on in age (about 3 years). |

I upgrade the major components in my custom build desktop every year and half to two years. I try to sell my parts before they lose too much value and then upgrade. I wait a little longer for the CPU though. |
