Apple is expected to release a refresh on their Macbook Pro line later this week: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/02/20/planning-on-buying-a-macbook-pro-wait-until-later-this-week/

I'd honestly go with one of the new MacBook Pros that came out today. They have the new Sandy Bridge processors, 4GB of RAM, and even 10Gbps I/O with Intel's Thunderbolt technology.

There is also the HP Envy series, and Dell also has some high end notebooks, so does most of the competition. But Apple really does make some nice notebooks.
